ALICIA
Alicia is
a true Florida native, born in Jacksonville FL. Music became a
part of her life begining with singing in the church choir, and later
expanded to violin. Summers were filled with local Broadway
musical productions and music camps. After graduating with honors in
Music from Jacksonville
University she went on to a career in insurance specializing in
individual and small group health
plans. In the early 90's she found her way back to musical performance
by joining Jacksonville Harmony Chorus. But then along came
husband Roger who whisked her off her feet and onto a 46' sailboat
where the two of them lived and operated Good Time Charters, NV , a
single-boat-owner-operated charter
company in Sint Maarten/St Martin for almost seven years. The
only thing
she missed during her time away from the rat race was the comaraderie
and
music that barbershop brought to her life. Immediately upon
returning to Florida in the fall of 2001- with Captain Roger - she
joined Women of Note Chorus where she has served as a part of the
leadership team. Being back on land also required another career
change, so she now works in downtown West Palm Beach as a legal
assistant..
Hobbies and interests other than music
include traveling and
experiencing other cultures, nature (both for enjoyment and
conservation), painting, crafts,
and
appreciation of other forms of art. Alicia is thrilled to be a part of
such a vibrant and fun quartet and looks forward to spreading joyful
sounds throughout our area with Hidden Treasure!
