DONNA
Lead Donna Kelly has been singing all her life and
comes from a background in piano and choral music. She had sung in
ensembles, choruses, choirs, and had done a variety of duet, trio and
solo work prior to becoming a member of Sweet Adelines International in
1997. Born in Leesburg, Donna has always lived in Florida and resides
with her husband Tom in West Palm Beach. They’ve shared their love for
life, music and each other for over 30 years. Donna is a charter member
of the award-winning Women of Note chorus, 2005 International Division
A Champions. Her first quartet opportunity came as a substitute lead
for one of the chapter’s quartets a few years ago. Elated by the
experience, she determined to form a new quartet. “Finding the ladies I
sing with in Hidden Treasure has been a dream come true!” she says.
Affectionately known as “Dee” by her chorus and quartet, she presently
serves as Lead Section Co-Captain, Make-Up Coordinator, Sunshine Chair
and Script Team writer. She expresses her musical philosophy this way:
“My life has always been about doing for others and making them happy.
If I can share a song and touch one heart along the way, then I’ll know
that I have been successful in this life.” In her spare time, Donna is
a doting grandmother of two beautiful girls, Amanda and Rebecca, and
hopes they someday will “tag along” and share her love for music.
